Pierre Petrified Giant
From Kook Science
The Pierre Petrified Giant was an alleged petrified corpse, supposed to have been the remains of a Native American, that was claimed to have been excavated in the Badlands of South Dakota during 1892, described in a brief press notice as having been brought to Pierre, South Dakota by an unidentified "party of cowboys". No further information has been found regarding the claim at this time.

D., what they called a petrified Indian, dug up in the 'bad lands' of South Dakota. It was found in a region noted for fossils heretofore unearthed. The discoverers claim that it was first exposed by a portion of a river bank caving off, and that it was imbedded in blue clay, which, if true, would indicate that the man belonged to some prehistoric race."
