Ucumar

El Ucumar is a wild man figure in Argentinian folklore, in particular associated with incidents in the Tucumán province. M. L. Borda described the term as originating with the case of a "bestial, ugly, hairy" man that had been living in the mountains of Tucumán during the early twentieth century, who was eventually arrested by local authorities after being blamed for the abduction of young girls,[1] likely in reference to Pedro Ocampo.[2]
