Almas (from Mongolian: Алмас, "wild man"; compare Chechen Алмазы, Turkish Albıs) is an appellation for a proposed cryptid (crypto-hominid) of the Caucasus and Pamir Mountains of Central Asia, and the Altai Mountains of southern Mongolia, frequently compared to the Siberian Chuchunya (tjutjuna), Himalayan Yeti, and North American Bigfoot (or Sasquatch).
