Parker Publishing Company, Inc. was a New York corporation, a wholly-owned and directly managed subsidiary of Prentice Hall, officially based in West Nyack, N.Y. with business operations in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. Parker's catalogue generally focused on subject matter in the genres of how-to guides, self-help and positive thinking, varieties of unorthodox medicine, parapsychology, and other fringe subjects from the 1960s through the 1980s. As with its parent company, Parker was sold along to Simon & Schuster in 1990, and then to Pearson Education in 1998, which oversaw the shuttering of both Parker and Prentice.
