Shaver Mystery Club

The Shaver Mystery Club was a fan organisation open to individuals interested in Richard S. Shaver's series of stories and articles detailing an underground civilisation ruled by the malevolent Deros, formed in 1947 at Chicago, Illinois by Chester S. Geier with the support of Ray Palmer. The original club was the credited publisher of Shaver Mystery Magazine from 1947 through 1948, and Geier wrote letters promoting the club that were published in both Amazing Stories and Fantastic Adventures. The name would also become commonly used by regional fan clubs with the same interest.
