Metcalf's Coca Wine was an American tonic wine, made from a mixture of coca leaves and wine, sold by the Theodore Metcalf Co. of Boston, Massachusetts. Advertising copy described the coca wine as a "pleasant tonic and invigorator," recommended for "neuralgia, sleeplessness, despondency," as well as "febrile disorders" and relief of "typhus, scorbutus, gastralgia, anemia, enteralgia, and to assist digestion," thanks to the "anodyne and anti-spasmodic" effect of coca.[1]
