Project STARGATE

From Kook Science

The STARGATE Project is a code name for a consolidated program that was formerly conducted by the Stanford Research Institute (and SRI International) in collaboration with the Defense Intelligence Agency, having been established for the purpose of researching psychic phenomena and parapsychology generally with the aim of developing methods of remote viewing and other techniques for military and intelligence uses. Earlier programs whose working files were merged into STARGATE included CENTER LANE, DRAGOON ABSORB, GONDOLA WISH, GRILL FLAME, CF, SCANATE, and SUN STREAK. The project passed in 1995 from DIA to Central Intelligence Agency oversight, at which time CIA commissioned a review of STARGATE that proved critical and dismissive of the research being done and it was subsequently cancelled. In the years that followed, CIA declassified and released thousands of pages of archived documents related to STARGATE to the public.
