Jere Shannon
From Kook Science
Jere Shannon was an American woodsman resident at Bangor, Penobscot Co., Maine, who, along with Patrick Kelley, was reported in 1901 to have claimed discovery of the secret of perpetual motion and to have paid lawyer Brian J. Dunn to fill the paperwork for a U.S. patent on their invention. As there was no follow-up reported and given that the U.S. Patent Office refused to give papers for perpetual motion machines, this joint venture seems likely to have failed.
