Allen E. Banik (February 10, 1905 - June 17, 1992) was an American optometrist who promoted the Hunza diet, based on his observations of the Hunzukut peoples (during a trip sponsored by Art Linklater's People Are Funny television program), and distilled water, based on his belief that inorganic minerals present in water are anathema to human health and cause tissue damage.
