Timothy Joseph Mahoney (August 26, 1877 - March 23, 1955) was an American machinist and engineer involved with electric railways in California, mining concerns in Arizona, and various other industries. Mahoney was the subject of some press attention in San Francisco during 1898 and 1899 after he and his mother, Arcadia Camarillo Mahoney, were sued by Jose G. Moraga, a wealthy rancher and Mahoney's uncle, over claims that Mahoney had promised Moraga he could develop a working perpetual motion machine but failed to deliver.
