Poor Richard's Celebrated Eye Water (named for Benjamin Franklin's Almanac)[1] was an ocular remedy that promised to heal eye strain and prevent blindness, part of the Mrs. M.G. Brown's Metaphysical Discovery line of remedies. There was no medicinal content in the "metaphysical cure", so effectively the product was nothing more than ordinary water.
