Operation OFTEN
From Kook Science
Operation OFTEN was a U.S. Central Intelligence Agency program, active through the 1970s, with the purpose of studying the occult — including black magic, voodoo, demonology, and other strands of esotericism — and psychicism, financing university study programs and evaluating potential uses in the intelligence sphere. It is often conflated with MKOFTEN, a sub-project of MKSEARCH, which focused on manipulating human behaviour and mind control using drugs (and, indeed, may have simply been an extension of said program).
