Louis Clement was a chemist of claimed Danish heritage, responsible for Nuoline, a gasoline alternative, and other similar scams, who became embroiled in a 1928 New York torch murder investigation, during which German "spy master" and swindler Armgaard Karl Graves was accused of being him (or vice-versa) in the press.
