John Roy Robert Searl (b. May 2, 1932) is a British electrician and inventor who has claimed to have built several dozen devices that exploit what he calls the Searl Effect, these being perpetual motion machines and flying saucers called Levity Discs or Inverse-G-Vehicles that are alleged to utilise anti-gravity. The effect itself, apparently based on recurring dreams from his youth, is explained as relating to a novel mathematical theory called "the law of the squares" and was referred to as "magnetic bubbles in motion" during early development.[S]
