The Fraternal Order of Spiritualists of America was a Spiritualist fraternal organisation, founded by Alexander Caird and incorporated during 1908 in parallel filings at Chicago, Illinois and Springfield, Massachusetts. Charles A. Thompson, an Illinois co-incorporator, went on in late 1911 to found the Second Illinois Society of the Fraternal Order of Spiritualists of America for the stated purpose of "employ[ing] mediums to demonstrate phenomena of spiritualism".
