Flagg's Instant Relief was a patent medicine cure-all and pain relief remedy sold by E. H. Flagg and hired agents all across the United States from the 1850s into the 1900s. According to some sources, Flagg's Instant Relief was the basis for both Hamlin's Wizard Oil and Kickapoo Indian Oil.[1]

Composition

Oleson's "Secret Nostrums and Systems of Medicine" (1890) gives the formula as a mixture: "Oil of cloves, about 1dr.; Oil of sassafras, about 2 dr.; Spirits of camphor, about 1½ dr." [2]
