Edward "Ed" Joseph John (March 6, 1909 - July 2, 1979) was an American radio mechanic with interests in the Shaver Mystery and the occult. John was notable as the manufacturer of a telaug-type device known as the Star Mech and for claims regarding eerie phenomena, including the appearance (and disappearance) of large black vehicles that cruised silently and evenly over bad roads, in the region around a ranch house he resided in at Mendocino County, California during the 1930s.
