Cedric Allingham
From Kook Science
Cedric Allingham is the credited author of the 1954 book Flying Saucer from Mars (London: Frederick Muller), in which it was claimed that Allingham had an encounter with a six-foot Martian saucer pilot while holidaying near Lossiemouth in Moray, Scotland in mid-February 1954. Thirty-two years after the book was published, both the book and Allingham himself were identified by Christopher Allan and Steuart Campbell in the magazine Magonia as a hoax, the result of an apparent collaboration between Peter Davies and Patrick Moore, though Moore denied any involvement.
