Tarot
From Kook Science
Tarot (from the Italian tarocchi) or tarotology is a system of cartomantic divination that utilises the playing cards of the same name. The cards themselves reputedly have their origins in the Mamluk Sultanate, having been introduced into Europe via the Italian states (including the Duchy of Milan) in the fourteenth century; while the system of tarot for divinatory purpose was spread and formalised during the eighteenth century (though some authors have held that the tarot can be directly traced back to ancient Hebrew or Egyptian sources).
