Ozomulsion was a patent cod liver oil preparation, originally sold by Ozomulsion Co. before becoming part of the T. A. Slocum Co. line of remedies. The product was described as a "scientific" and "medicinal food that attacks microbes and drives out disease," advertising boasting it was the "only vitalized Emulsion of Cod Liver Oil on the market."
Composition
Per a solicitation in the Medical Brief,[1] Ozomulsion was composed of 50% cod liver oil, said to have been "ozonized" using "Slocum's French electrical method," with 2 drops of guaiacola ("perfected guaiacol"), a wood tar creosote derivative used as an expectorant, per tablespoon.
