Emil Matalik (July 5, 1929 - July 20, 2008) was an American political activist and perennial presidential candidate under the banner of the One United Nations Organization (OUNO, United Nations Party) and later the One United Nature's Organization (1-UNITED natures organization party, 1 U.n.o.), running on platforms that included the promotion of world government, a policy of general population control, including the reduction of plant and animal life ("one child, one animal, and one tree per family") in order to prevent natural disasters, and the enclosure of the planet in a protective cube or sphere to prevent the loss of water to evaporation into outer space. Matalik was noted for in his earnest support for the United Nations and his offer to gift sixty acres of farmland in Wisconsin to the organisation, though he ultimately broke with this position when the U.N. declined the property and shifted his political priorities in consequence.
