John Titor was the name used by a poster on the Post2Post Art Bell Forum beginning in January 2001, self-reported to be an American soldier from the year 2036 who had been recruited into a military project that sent him "back in time," first to the year 1975 to acquire an IBM 5100 Portable Computer, and later to the year 2000. While he is often described as a time traveller, it is more accurate to describe his claims as travel through parallel universes (multiverse hopping, quantum leaping), especially if one accepts Titor's statement that Hugh Everett's Many-Worlds Interpretation (MWI) is correct to be true.
