James Bernard Schafer (January 14, 1895 - April 26, 1955) was an American real estate agent turned guru who founded the Royal Fraternity of Master Metaphysicians (among other esoteric societies), becoming infamous in the press for his plan to raise an immortal baby at the group's "Peace Haven" compound at Long Island, New York during the 1940s.
