Saint Beatus de Liébana (or Beato de Liébana; c. 730 - c. 800) was an Iberian Catholic monk and theologian of the Order of Saint Benedict who was active in the Picos de Europa mountains of the region of Liébana in the Kingdom of Asturias during the first century of the Reconquista. His best known work was the Commentary on the Apocalypse of St. John (Commentarium in Apocalypsin), a twelve volume text that was widely distributed during the High Middle Ages.
