Michel de Nostredame, or Nostradamus (December 14, 1503 - July 2, 1566) was a French apothecary, astrologer, and prognosticator, noted for a series of poetic quatrains (four-line stanzas) that were supposed to foretell the future, the first 353 published in his 1555 book Les Prophéties, with a further 589 quatrains released in later editions (also known as Les Centuries).
