Abbé Alexis-Timothée Bouly (December 11, 1865 - January 29, 1958) was a French Catholic priest, long-serving in the parish of Hardelot-Plage in Pas-de-Calais, France, and a sourcier or radiesthesist, noted for his coinage of the term radiésthesie ("radiesthesia") in 1929 and for his founding l'Association des Amis de la Radiesthésie ("Association of Friends of Radiesthesia"). Bouly received press coverage for his claims to have discovered everything from lost treasures and human remains to underground springs and mineral veins, in addition to being able to diagnose disease, all using either a hazel twig or an instrument of his devising made from umbrella ribs.
