Matango (Japanese: マタンゴ) is a Japanese tokusatsu kaiju horror film about mutagenic fungus monsters on an island in the South Pacific. Originally released in August 1963, the film was directed by Ishiro Honda (本多猪四郎) from a screenplay by Takeshi Kimura (木村 武), based on William Hope Hodgson's The Voice in the Night (1907).
