Johannes Schlaf (June 21, 1862 - February 2, 1941) was a German playwright, novelist, and poet who, in his later years, wrote cosmological speculations and advocated for the long-discredited Ptolemaic, or geocentric, model of the solar system. Schlaf based his idea of ​​the earth as the center of the universe on studies of the sunspot phenomenon, and attempted to spread it through numerous publications, including essays, books, newspaper articles, personal correspondence, radio interviews, and lecturing.
