Douglas Eugene "Gene" Savoy (May 11, 1927 - September 11, 2007) was an American amateur archaeologist and religious leader, the Head Bishop of the International Community of Christ (ICC) and founder of Cosolargy, a theological praxis he developed from the late 1950s until his death, described as being based on the "secret system" mastered by the likes of Jesus Christ, Gautama Buddha, Quetzalcoatl, and Viracocha, the "World's First Nuclear Physicists" who were said to have applied "cosmic/solar forces for self-development."[i] Savoy made routine expeditions through Peru from the 1960s through the 1980s, during which time he claimed or was credited with the discovery of many sites of pre-Columbian origin, and sought after evidence for his beliefs regarding the Inca and Neo-Inca peoples, which formed the core part of his religious thinking.
